Article title: " Inhibition of Chemically induced carcinogenesis by drugs used in homeopathic medicine" *
It is believed that homeopathy can make a valuable contribution to cancer therapy. However, there are few clinical trials to this effect to demonstrate the effectiveness of homeopathy. The authors examined the research wanted to study the protective action of certain homeopathic substances on two types of experimentally induced cancer in rats: liver cancer caused by chemical N'-nitrosodiethylamine (NDEA, a contaminant of nitrosoderivato environments) and sarcoma caused by 3-methylcholanthrene (a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon produced by the combustion of cigarettes).
Homeopathic remedies have been used:
Ruta, Hydrastis, Lycopodium and Thuja, all known substances used in homeopathy to treat cancer.
Administration of NDEA (N'-nitrosodiethylamine) in rats led to the development of cancer in the liver with the increase in serum and liver marker enzymes such as gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase, glutamate pyruvate transaminase, glutamate oxaloacetate transaminase and alkaline phosphatase.
Concomitant administration of homeopathic remedies had the effect of delaying tumor growth and significantly reduced the activity of enzyme markers , as revealed by morphological examination, biochemical and histopathological.
Of the four drugs studied, Ruta 200C showed maximum inhibition on the development of liver cancer.
While Ruta 200C MK Phosphorus and together they were able to reduce the incidence of 3-methylcholanthrene-induced sarcomas and also increase the lifespan of rats.
These studies thus demonstrate that homeopathic medicines in infinitesimal doses can decrease cancer induced by administration of carcinogens although at the moment we do not know the mechanisms of action.
